Tenzan is a veteran of the ring, with countless hard fought matches to his name. He debuted for New Japan in January of 1991 and quickly displayed a powerful fighting style paired with skilled techniques. He quickly rose to prominence, winning the IWGP Heavyweight title four times, the G1 CLIMAX three times and the IWGP Tag Team title a staggering 12 times. While five of Tenzan's 12 IWGP Tag Team Championship reigns came with the legendary Masahiro Chono, the strongest connection Tenzan formed in his career was with Satoshi Kojima. The two would be firm friends and bitter rivalries at different points through their careers, but teamed consistently from the 2010s onward, logging six IWGP Tag Team Championship reigns in total. 2021 saw Tenzan attempt to mark his 30th anniversary in style, but the United Empire would rain on his parade. After being laid out by Great-O-Khan at New year Dash, Tenzan lost a singles match at New Beginning in Nagoya, in theory losing the rights to his signature Mongolian Chop before tweaking the move to keep it in his repertoire. Tenzan is still fighting hard to this day, as well as supporting Master Wato in his journey to the top of the junior heavyweight division.
