The "Ticking Time Bomb" and a member of Los Ingobernables de Japon, HiromuTakahashi is arguably the brightest star in the Junior Heavyweight division.Certainly his explosive power and wild style is beyond question. After exploding back to New Japan from excursion on January 4 2017, Hiromu won the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight title by beating KUSHIDA. Although his reign didnot continue for long, Hiromu won Best of the Super Jr. 25 and got back to bethe IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion in 2018. Coming back from a neck injury, Hiromu's challenge to Will Ospreay for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight title was successful on January 4 2020. Hiromu lost the title to Taiji Ishimori in Jingu on August 29 2020, but he won the Best of the Super Jr.27, taking a huge step back to the top of his division. On January 4 2021, Hiromu beat El Phantasmo for the right to challenge for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship, and won the title from Ishimori on the following day. Hiromu called on SHO who beat him in the Best of the Super Jr. 27 to be the challenger for the Championship, and set himself an ambitious new goal: to headline in the Tokyo Dome with the Junior Heavyweight Championship. That goal hit an obstacle in February when a torn pectoral put Hiromu on the shelf, but when he comes back, he is sure to reach even greater heights.
