Jay Lethal

Holding the record for most ever defences of the ROH World Heavyweight Championship across his two reigns, Jay Lethal has become the franchise of Ring of Honor wrestling. A standard bearer for ROH whenever the company is in Japan, Lethal has defended the ROH World Championship four times in New Japan rings, against Michael Elgin, Satoshi Kojima, Tomoaki Honma and TK O'Ryan, more than any performer in history. He's always open to testing his mettle against the top stars of New Japan, even at the shortest of notice, as when he substituted for Michael Elgin in his November 2016 challenge to IWGP Intercontinental Champion Tetsuya Naito. Lethal's orthodox style is accompanied by a penchant for risk taking with high flying tope suicidas, and his graceful cutter variation, the Lethal Injection, which can come at the most unpredictable moments.
